This list contains excerpts from news articles that list the names of al Qaeda captured or convicted, along with the original link, (not hotlinked). Handy yes? Its a safe assumption that the majority of these have been released again.

Feb 18, 2002 Twelve persons are still in custody in the governorate of Ibb, including the brother-in-law of Usama bin Laden, Dr. Mohammed Ghaleb. He is married to the sister of bin Laden’s Yemeni wife. The sources said other two Egyptians are detained in Ibb. They are Ahmed Ezat and Mohammed Omar. May 20, 2002 The man who threw grenades at the US Embassy in March has been convicted by a Sana’a court to 10 years in jail. Sameer Yahia Awadh, 26, exploded the grenades on March 15. http://www.yementimes.com/02/iss21/front.htm XXX

Feb 2, 2003 Yemeni authorities arrested last week two people from al-Eman university affiliated to Sheikh Abdulmajeed Al-Zindani of the Islah Party. Reliable sources said that the intelligence arrested Wednesday a student at al-Eman university named Abduljabar al-Marwani. He was taken from his house at Sa’wan district North East of Sanaa. Two days earlier, the authorities arrested Dr. Ahmad al-Daghshi, a professor at Sana’a and al-Eman universities.
