officially taken office from former spokesman Capt. Paddy Nkunda from

Mogadishu: Newly appointed spokesman for the African Union
Mission in Somalia, Col. Ali Adam Hamud from Djibouti national army has
officially taken office from former spokesman Capt. Paddy Nkunda from
UPDF on Saturday,Terror Free Somalia reports.A joint press conference held in AMISOM compound in Mogadishu, the
two officials transferred the office asthe former spokesman declared
that Col. Ali Adam Hamud will be in charge for AMISOM’s information
office.“I wish to welcome Col Hamud from Djibouti army who will be leading
AMISOM’s information office.” Capt. Paddy Nkunda told reprters at the
press conference.
He said that AMISOM’s information office, which is the most
important has undergone two previous spokesmen and that Col. Hamud was
the third official ion office since the mission was launched in 2007.
The incoming spokesman Col. Hamud has undertaken that he will
establish a warm relation with local media as he also commended the
sacrifice made the military men and women from contributing countries
including Uganda, Burundi, Djibouti and Kenya.“This is because to survive our Somali brothers from the worst
condition and that security and stability should return to this country
so that Somali people will be able to live in safe life.” Col. Hamud
said.The new spokesman of AMISOM speaks Somali language as well as French
and English as he beciomes the first person speaks Somali language in the
AMISOM military officials.
