Saudis hold 113 suspects in southern anti-terror swoop -
Saudi Arabia foiled an alleged terror plot against its oil installations and security forces on Wednesday, with the arrest of 113 suspected al-Qaeda members. Among them were 12 men allegedly part of two separate suicide squads who were set to carry out the attacks. Included in the arrests, which came after a five-month sweep, were 58 Saudi citizens and 52 foreigners including men from Yemen, Somalia, and Ethiopia.
In response to the foiled threat, the Saudi government is building a special security force 35,000 strong to guard its oil installations, with help from the United States.
