BALADWEYN—At least four people have been killed and more than four have been injured in fighting between local militias and al-Shabab in Mahas district in Hiran region in central Somalia, witnesses said on Friday.The Islamic Courts Union which controls parts of the region has reportedly supporting the local militia which is fighting against the Shabab.The fighting started after al-Shabab attacked the town early on Friday and the fighting is still underway in the town.A lot of civilians have fled from the town and the telecommunication of the town has been cut off.Separately, another fighting between al-Shabab and Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a is ongoing in Wabho Village of Elbur district in Galgadud region in central Somalia.It is not known the casualties of the fighting since the clashes are still continuing. Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a and Al-Shabab have been fighting in central Somalia since Ethiopia withdrew its military from Somalia in mid January 2009.
