Raskamboni Fighters Say Al Shabaab Fighters Give in
Dhobley(tf.sf) — As battles between Al shabaab fighters and Somali forces backed by moderate Ahlu Sunna Waljama ASWJ and Raskamboni are continuing to rage many parts in the country, a number of Al shabaab fighters defected to Raskabmobi group, an official said Thursday.
Abdifatah Farah, head of Raskamboni fighters for military operations said that nearly 15 Al shabaab fighters surrendered to them in Dhobley.
He indicated that the defectors were cordially welcomed in the border town of Dhobley in Lower Jubba region of southern Somalia.
He noted that they were very young boys, adding that were lured by foreign militants and later absorbed their aim is not defending the Islam.
However, no immediate statements about the claim of Raskamboni group were available from Al shabaab officials in the region.
Government carries out operation in Bakool
