A high delegation of the Somali government officials are touring some of the district which the Somali government has recently taken from the Islamist faction of Al-Shabab in a deadly battle.
These officials have started their tour from, the first district which the Somali government has ousted from Al-Shabab [Bula-Hawo].
In Bula-Hawo distrcts the officials have met with the commanders of the Somali military officers and those of the moderate Islamist faction of Ahlu-Suunah Waljama who were supporting the Somali government in their win over Al-Shabab fighters. Some of the prominent figures of these Somali government officials are the minister for finance Hon: Hussein Abdi Halane, the state minister for the
ministry of sea and land transportation Hon: Abdirashid Hajji Derow, the deputy minister of the ministry of defense Hon: Abdirashid Mohamed Hidig, some other members of parliament and other high ranking military officers.
The purpose of the tour of the government officials is mainly to assess the areas where the government has recently ousted from the fighters of Al-Shabab , to morally support the government soldiers on the ground and to give significant guidelines to the soldiers.
The deputy minister of the ministry of defense has talked to terror free somalia over the cable during the first leg of their assessment tour.
“The main objective of our assessment tour is to seriously scrutinize the achievements made by the government soldiers and their commanders in Gedo region, and what they really need in order to advance further in the other regions in the country where the radical so called Islamist is now occupying, and we hope soon Somalia will be Al-Shabab free country” said Hidig.
This will be the first such a high delegation of the Somali government to reach some parts of Gedo region, after the seizure of the Somali government soldiers of 3 strategic district in the region.
