East Africa facing "worst humanitarian disaster" in the world German Chancellor Angela Merkel has announced her readiness to allocate an additional 1 million Euros in aid for Somali refugees.They flooded into Kenya to escape the civil war and an unprecedented drought in their homeland.This money will go to Somali refugees in the Dadaab camp, and the Kenyan people, "who graciously accepted them," said Ms Merkel upon her arrival in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.In Kenya, Merkel has begun an African tour in which she will also visit Nigeria and Angola.According to the latest UN estimates, because of the drought in East Africa 10 million people are threatened by famine, the most difficult situation being in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Djibouti.Voice of Russia
