14 Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab Jihadists    killed and several other wounded following fierce fighting between Al-Shabaab rebel fighters and TFG troops for the last 24 hour in Busar village, 40 km from El-wak town.Fourteen people were killed on Wednesday morning after government troops launched fresh attacks on rebel bases in Qura’a Lafole and Sadehda Jirod areas of Busar village.Today’s fight follows another deadly fighting in the same area on Tuesday afternoon, where the warring sides clashed.TFG’s Juba and Gedo regions spokesman Warfa Sheikh Adan told  terror free somalia that they seized control of Qura’a Lafole and Sadehda Jirod areas of Busar village from Al-Shabaab following the fighting.He claimed that they killed 14 rebel fighters during Wednesday fight.Al-Shabaab has also claimed victory in today’s fighting, adding that they repulsed government troops who attacked their bases in the area.There are no independent sources to verify claims made by both side of the fighting.

He was the head of Al-Qaeda’s branch in East Africa, and his position was taken over by Fazul, the man who planned the terrorist attack on an Israeli hotel in Kikambala in 2002. Both were on the US list of most-wanted men. Fazul was shot dead by TFG soldiers after a confrontation in Mogadishu this year.It is believed that the bombs that went off at Kyadondo Rugby Club and an Ethiopian Restaurant in Kampala were put together and dispatched from the spot.When Al-Shaabab were forced out of parts of Mogadishu up north in 2006, they moved to Qoddo, so close to Kenya that there is mobile network coverage, and resumed their training for terror. The reception of mobile networks means the terrorists could easily communicated with their colleagues in the region. Among them were foreign jihadist fighters, said to originate from as far as the US, the Al-Qaeda headquarters in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kenya. A soldier with the TFG, who knows a bit about them, showed the Nation the spot at the centre where they were trained on martial arts by the Pakistanis. He said, and he cannot be named for his own safety, that the terrorists had a $30 (Sh2,800) mobile network booster as well as satellite phones.At the site they fled only recently, there are also signs that they had access to more equipment — a gas cylinder that was probably used for welding and remnants of rocket-propelled grenades. Mr Abdulahi Aden, a 56-year-old Somali pastoralist, who lives in the vicinity of the training camp, said they were even prevented from grazing their cows near the site. a move that will surely please the Al Qaeda-linked extremists in command of Somalia’s Al Shabaab rebel group, Kenya’s prime minister has won the support of Israel to defend his country against terrorist attack.

Since sending its troops into Somalia last month, Kenya has handed a number of PR gifts to the Shabaab, first by being an invading foreign force from a Christian country, then by accidentally bombing a refugee camp, and now by hooking up with every jihadis' favorite enemy: Israel.“Kenya got the backing of the top leadership of the State of Israel in its war to rid its territory of fundamentalist elements,” said a statement from Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s office.The support will likely take the form of specialist anti-terror training for Kenya’s security forces. Useful as this might be, the initiative will give the Shabaab yet another opportunity to claim that Kenya’s invasion is part of a grand anti-Islamic alliance.

MOGADISHU (Reuters) - A large explosion was heard near a Somali rebel stronghold about 30 km (19 miles) from the capital Mogadishu on Sunday, residents and a senior rebel official said.They said the blast hit near Afgoye, one of 10 Somali towns the Kenyan military said risked air strikes due to the presence of al Shabaab rebel bases."I've never heard such an explosion in my life," Afgoye resident Mohamud Abdi Ali told Reuters. "It didn't explode in the town, but I think it exploded near al Shabaab's military camps."A farmer, who lives near the rebel camps at Afgoye and gave his name as Abdi, said a missile struckbuildings outside the town used by al Shabaab fighters for meetings.Afgoye is a strategic junction on the road leading from the capital to the south of the Horn of Africa nation."I heard a huge explosion outside Afgoye myself, but I do not know what it is," a senior al Shabaab official, who declined to be named, told Reuters.The United States has used drones in the past to target top al Shabaab officials.Kenya's military spokesman was not available for comment.Kenya, the region's biggest economy, sent troops into Somalia five weeks ago to rout the insurgents it blames for kidnappings of Western aid workers and tourists on Kenyan soil, and frequent cross-border incursions.After a fairly smooth advance, Kenya's forces fighting al Shabaab have since been camped near several rebel strongholds, but have yet to have a major showdown with the insurgents, nor seize any significant strategic bases.

It either exploded inside Afgoyo or nearby," said Ashao Ahmed, who lives outside Mogadishu.Four Kenyan soldiers were wounded in a firefight with Somalia's al Shabaab rebels overnight, the latest in a series of recent clashes near the border between the neighbours.The clash overnight on Saturday was about 20 km inside Somalia from the border town of El Wak.Kenyan military spokesman Emmanuel Chirchir said their forces and Somali government troops bumped into an al Shabaab camp while on patrol late at night.He said in a statement that four Kenyan soldiers had been wounded, one critically, and nine al Shabaab fighters killed. He also said seven people had been arrested in a raid at El Wak and a number of weapons recovered.The Kenyan army said on Saturday its progress had been hampered by heavy rain in an area with few Tarmac roads, and because its troops were rooting out al Shabaab sympathisers in areas it now controls while feeding the famine-hit population."It takes time. NAIROBI, Kenya — Kenyan and Somali government troops have killed nine members of an al-Qaida-linked militant group they are pursuing in Somalia, Kenya’s military spokesman said Sunday.
Maj. Emmanuel Chirchir said the soldiers came upon an al-Shabab camp while on patrol Saturday night.He said four Kenyan soldiers were wounded. One of the Kenyan soldiers who was critically wounded has been flown to the Kenyan town of Garissa for further treatment, Chirchir said in a statement.Chirchir said some militants are believed to have escaped with wounds and advised residents of the Kenya-Somalia border town of Elwak to be on the lookout for people seeking treatment for wounds.Separately, the Kenyan army said it conducted a raid in Elwak town on Saturday night and arrested four people in possession of illegal weapons. Of those arrested, one is Kenyan and others are Somalis, Chirchir said.Kenya last month sent hundreds of troops into Somalia to pursue al-Shabab. The East African nation blames the group for a string of attacks and kidnappings in Kenya, including those of four Europeans. Swan, and asked him to explain the U.S. policy in their homeland.They told Swam that he has an opportunity to make it or break it,” referring to his role in Somalia’s stability.he community appealed to the U.S to provide more humanitarian support to help stabilize the country.The president of the Somali Community Action Network in Columbus, Jibril Mohamed, said whilst the U.S. government can’t dictate to Somalia what the new government will be, they are glad that the U.S government appointed Swan to help lead American efforts to find a solution.After meeting with the Somali community, Swan spoke at Ohio State University’s Mershon Center for International Security Studies; Swan said the transition period for the government must end if the many needs of the Somali people are to be properly addressed.He hopes the transition will conclude with the election of a new president next August.Before he spoke to the community yesterday, Swan met with Somali’s former prime minister, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, who served less than a year and is back home in Buffalo after he resigned early this year.Swan was appointed in August and is based in Nairobi. Marka is about 100 kilometres south of the capital, Mogadishu, from where the rebels have been largely routed by African Union forces.Kenyan and Somali government troops are approaching Kismayu from the south after taking a string of towns on the coastline.The Tuesday display came as Kenya’s military incursion inside Somalia was debated in the UK parliament.

Using loud speakers on minibuses, the militants drove around calling on the inhabitants of Marka, the capital of Lower Shabelle region, to come out and watch a big military display.

MOGADISHU, Nov.10 (Xinhua) -- The rebel militants of Al Shabaab in Somalia said they have obtained radar equipments and other military hardware to fight against Kenyan and Somali troops battling the group in the south of the war-torn country, a pro-Al Shabaab website reported on Thursday.The claim by the radical group comes as row over alleged shipment of arms for Al Shabaab have been growing between Kenya and Eritrea. Eritrea is accused of sending weapons to the group, but the country has strongly denied the accusation."Radar equipments have been brought to some of the Somalia Wilaayaats (provinces) to detect enemy aircraft breaching Somalia' s airspace, "said Somalimemo, a website used by Al Shabaab.The site quoting an unnamed official added " other 'modern equipments 'were found to counter the aging Kenyan aircraft fleet". The Al Shabaab official did not give further details about where the group got the new military equipment or where they were installed.Kenyan have lately been carrying out air raids against Al Shabaab targets in southern Somalia where the group controls. Allied Kenyan and Somali government troops have since early October been carrying out a military action aimed at ousting the militant fighters from the south of the war-ravaged Horn of Africa nation.

The group also asserted they have enlisted the retired senior military officials of former Somali government of Mohamed Siyad Barre to advise on and take part in the fight against Kenyan and Somali government troops.

The radical rebel group of Al Shabaab this week displayed several speedboats and dozens of newly trained fighters carrying AK-47s as well as local traditional fighters armed with spears, bows and arrows in the southern port town of Marka.

Al Shabaab reiterated threats of attacks against Kenyan for sending its troops across the border to Somalia as well as against Burundi and Uganda, two countries who are currently contributing troops to the 9,000-strong African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) based in Mogadishu.

2011: Norwegian-Somali’s unknown wife calls and says that his son has died in battle.The two had no children.

Without notifying the family or friends, traveled Norwegian-Somali to Somalia and joined the terrorist organization al-Shabaab.

Somali legislator MP Adan Bule Mohamed killed in Mogadishu.A calculated assassination both personal and political agenda

The MP Adan Bule Mohamed was reportedly killed while on his way to his house in parts of the city at Darkenley district.There are conflicting reports of who killed the legislator. Some reports suggest that government troops in the area opened fire on his car after refusing to stop in a checkpoint while others say armed gangs attacked the legislator.Mohamed died in Madino hospital, where he was taken for treatment after two bullets lodged in his head following the attack.There is no official government statement detailing the identity of perpetrators of the incident and the reason behind his killing.The incident comes hours after unknown attackers hurled hand grenades into the house of an MP, Abdirahman Mohamud Farah Janaqow, in Bula-Hubey neighbourhood, Wadajir district.The attack killed a civilian and injured a government soldier and a woman, according to an eyewitness.

900 newly trained Somali soldiers  have arrived in the Somali capital  dispatched from Ugandan military school

A total of 900 Somali government soldiers were on Wednesday passed out at Bihanga Military training School in western Uganda.Bihanga Military training School commandant, Lt. Col. Winston Byaruhanga said this was the second pass out intake of Somali soldiers trained in Bihanga camp since last year.They were trained in basic military skills, medical, physical training among others.

The European Union Ambassador, Dr. Roberto Ridolfi who attended the pass out reiterated that European Union’s determination and concrete engagement in the stabilization of Somalia.He said EU will continue supporting African countries in the fight against insurgents and keep peace.

The Somali defence minister, Hussein Arab Esse, presided over the pass out.

It's clear we have a huge debt and spending problem that has only become worse under President Obama. But instead of proposing honest solutions to fix these problems, President Obama and his liberal allies in Congress have added fuel to the fire.
President Obama continues to push the same broken big spending, higher taxes policies even after the $825 billion "Stimulus" failed to deliver promised jobs. In fact, 1.5 million jobs have been lost since it was passed. ObamaCare is a fiscal train wreck that has only led to higher insurance premiums and more employers dumping their private coverage. And unemployment has been stuck above 8% for nearly three years.
And what is President Obama's prescription to cure these ills? More of the same.
President Obama spent the last month raising campaign cash and peddling his $447 billion "Stimulus Jr." across the country. But instead of proposing job creating policies, his latest spending boondoggle preserves the unsustainable status quo and calls for $1.5 trillion in tax increases to pay for it, which would destroy jobs and further decimate the economy.
Friend, America cannot afford another four years of President Obama's failed approach that starts from the premise that ever-higher levels of spending and taxes will solve our nation's problems.
To get our economy growing again, America needs new conservative leadership in the White House working with a Republican-controlled Congress to reform the tax code, slash spending and repeal the President's health care law -- not a doubling down on the Democrats' disastrous liberal policies.

Victory in Somalia will pave the way for tough task of securing civilians at home

The entry of Kenya Defence Forces into Somalia on October 15, opened a new front in the country’s efforts to secure its people.Within days of their offensive, the highly mechanised units had claimed victory over a number of Al-Shabaab strongholds with a key target being the port of Kismayu.Al-Shabaab staged isolated attacks in Nairobi and the north eastern regions, which were interpreted as attempts to retaliate against the incursion. These attacks have exacerbated security concerns among Kenyans.Of particular concern have been the two grenade attacks in Nairobi and two attacks in north eastern region, which resulted in fatalities.Even with the police cautioning the public against some spots in the city, there is no knowing where the enemy will strike next. This will certainly disrupt the economy and social life.

Another concern is the nature of the enemy. Al-Shabaab has been known to be composed of ethnic Somali recruits, especially from Somalia itself.But the confession of an attacker as having hailed from western Kenya and his accomplices suspected to be from central Kenya complicates the situation.This implies that the enemy could be more vicious inside the country than outside it.No doubt, Kenya’s involvement in an external military campaign comes as a surprise to many. And as its codename — “Operation Linda Nchi” — suggests, the entire exercise was not supposed to be an external affair but an internal one.Little wonder that the battle-hardened militants have scoffed at the country as a novice in war, which has only been involved in the “soft” peacekeeping assignments.

Since independence, the north-eastern region has posed a security nightmare beginning with the Shifta War of the 1960s, which was triggered by a secessionist movement.In effect, the area has been perpetually a security operation zone necessitating a special administration arrangement.However, with recent political developments, including the promulgation of a new Constitution, the region is experiencing a rebirth in development opportunities.For this to succeed, adequate security must be guaranteed by flushing out potential sources of terror. Involving the Kenya Defence Forces to fight an enemy that has no face is a major concern. Al-Shabaab jihadists Mohamud Abdi Yusuf, 31, pled guilty to providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization.

ST. LOUIS—The United States Attorney’s Office announced today that Mohamud Abdi Yusuf, 31, pled guilty to providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization.According to court documents, from February 2008 through at least July 2009, Yusuf, conspired with others to provide money to al Shabaab, which was designated by the U.S. State Department as a foreign terrorist organization in February 2008. Yusuf transferred money to al Shabaab under fictitious names and telephone numbers utilizing money remitting businesses operating in the United States.Al Shabaab is a terrorist organization based in Somalia, whose objective is the overthrow of the Transitional Federal Government (TFG), eliminating the African Union support for TFG, and the imposing Shari’a law in Somalia. Al Shabaab has engaged in, and used, violence, intimidation, and acts of terrorism in Somalia and elsewhere to further its objectives.Yusuf admitted to soliciting money from inside and outside the Eastern District of Missouri and coordinating the transfer of the money to al-Shabaab. Members of the conspiracy frequently communicated in coded language as they planned the means by which they transferred money to al Shabaab members and affiliates in Somalia.

Duane Mohamed Diriye, who is a resident of Kenya, and Abdi Mahdi Hussein, who worked for a money remitting business in Minneapolis, were also indicted along with Yusuf on October 21, 2010. Diriye remains at large; Hussein has appeared in court and his case is still pending.Yusuf entered guilty pleas to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to a designated terrorist organization and three counts of providing material support to a designated terrorist organization. Each count carries a maximum penalty of fifteen years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000 In determining the actual sentences, a Judge is required to consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which provide recommended sentencing ranges. United States District Judge Henry E. Autrey set Yusuf’s case for sentencing on January 31, 2012.“Since 9/11, this is the first international terrorism case prosecuted in Eastern Missouri,” said Special Agent in Charge Dennis L. Baker. He continued, “At least 20 American citizens from other parts of the U.S. have already traveled to Somalia to join al Shabaab, which is responsible for assassinating Somali peace activists, international aid workers, numerous civil society figures, and journalists. Senior leaders of al Shabaab are affiliated with al Qaeda.”The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force, in conjunction with task force agencies. Somali defence minister Hussein Arab with Chief Commander of Somali National Army, General A/kadir Sheikh Ali Diini goes to lower Jubba region

Defense Minister of Somali Transitional Federal Government, Hussein Arab Isse, heading other officials, has left from Nairobi, Kenya going to lower Jubba region, southern Somalia.

He is accompanied by Chief Commander of Somali National Army, General A/kadir Sheikh Ali Diini and other members of the TFG.Mr. Arab is supposed to reach Dhobley, Tabta, Qoqani and frontlines where Somali Transitional Federal Government, Raskamboni troops backed by the Kenyan army were with al Shabaab recently, state media added. This is the first visit that Somali defense minister Hussein Arab pays there since he was nominated to this post.

18 Shabaab killed as Kenya sinks boat

NAIROBI, Kenya Nov 3 – Kenya Navy forces on Wednesday sunk a skiff transporting fuel to Al Shabaab fighters in Somalia, killing 18 insurgents.Military Spokesman Emmanuel Chirchir said the skiff was sunk in the Indian Ocean at about 5pm on Wednesday as it headed to Kuday inside Somalia.“A skiff laden with 18 Al Shabaab fighters was transporting fuel to Kuday. The Kenya Navy intercepted the skiff and sunk it killing all the militants,” the military spokesman said in a statement late on Thursday.Chirchir also announced that they had learnt that Al Shabaab fighters had resorted to using alternative means of transporting their weapons, but assured that security had been intensified in all targeted regions. “Information reaching us confirms that Al Shabaab has resorted to using donkeys to transport their weapons,” he said, adding that “The locals use donkeys to fetch water for domestic use. However, due to the heavy rains water fetching is not feasible.” He said any large concentration and movement of loaded donkeys would be considered as Al Shabaab activity.The Kenyan defence forces have also warned aircraft owners to avoid landing them in Baidoa “because they will be considered a security threat.”He said an aircraft had been over flying their troops in all the three sectors secured in Somalia and warned that it will not be tolerated.“Further unauthorised over flying on the said region will be considered a threat. In addition, all aircrafts are hereby warned not to land in Baidoa,” he warned. He added; “Anyone violating this will be doing so at their peril.”Since Al Shabaab started using donkeys to transport weapons, Chirchir said the cost of donkeys even on the Kenyan side of the border had shot up, raising fears they were sold across to Somalia.He said donkeys had been trading at Sh22, 500 but their cost had shot up to Sh30, 000.“Kenyans dealing in donkey trade along the Kenya-Somali border are advised not to sell their animals to Al Shabaab as it would undermine our efforts in Somalia,” he warned.Al Shabaab insurgents have lately accelerated their pace of arming themselves following warnings by the Kenyan troops advancing towards Kismayu, one of their major targets as they seek to eliminate Al Shabaab presence to pave the way for the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) authority.On Tuesday, the militants received two planeloads of arms followed by another one delivered to them on Wednesday morning, according to the army spokesman.Asked to state the possible source of the armament supplies to Al Shabaab fighters, Chirchir said “at this point we are concentrating on how to disarm the enemy.”Eritrea has been accused of supplying arms by air and sea to the Al Qaeda-linked fighters, but Asmara has repeatedly denied the claims.On Tuesday, the defence headquarters in Nairobi warned residents in 10 Al Shabaab-controlled regions South of Somalia to beware of a major assault planned by its troops who were advancing towards the port of Kismayu.Chirchir said Baidoa, Baadheere, Baydhabo, Dinsur and Afgooye were among the areas Kenyan troops intended to hit as they head to the Al Shabaab-controlled port which is their major source of revenue and contraband.Regions of Bwale, Barawe and Jilib also remain under imminent attack of Kenyan troops.“In line with the Kenya Defence Forces strategy of diminishing Al Shabaab effectiveness and weapon use, the aforementioned towns will remain under imminent attack.
