MOGADISHU (TF.SF)—The chairman of Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a in central Somalia, Moallim Mohamud Sheikh Hassan said Thursday deal with the Mostly Wahhabi Hawiye transitional federal government of Somalia has failed.
Ahlu Sunna Waljama (ASWJ) and the transitional federal government of Somalia signed a power sharing deal in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on February 2010. He accused the Wahhabi Hawiye Somali government of siding to a third hand which is destroying the agreement between the government and his group. “There is no agreement between the transitional federal government and Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a, it failed,” Moallim Mohamud said. Sources say there were former Somali politicians that were going to benefit by the power sharing deal between the government and ASWJ who wanted to get ministerial posts acting as ASWJ officials and the government was supporting these politicians. There is no word from the transitional federal government of Somali about the speech of ASWJ chairman yet.
Some Background
The members Ethiopia is promoting are the mindless warlords of the region such as Abdi Nur Siyad (aka the mad Abdi), Garaase, Farah Dabageed and etc. The Sufi sheikhs are not part of the project and have no desire to sacrifice their children for an Ethiopian cause. The Ethiopian-assisted warlords are using the religious cover to cloud their bad name. Ethiopian-recruited militia from Godey are soon to cross the border to start war once more in Hiiraan, and also there is concerted massive movement of men and arms from Mogadishu by sea to Eel-bur although the first trial run was slaughtered upon landing. The elders of the Duduble and Murursade clan expressed their displeasure publically and privately – their territory enjoys a reliable peace under Al Shabab.
most of Ahlu Sunna forces on the ground hail from marehan clan.

Aden Hashi Ayrow |
Mr. Ahmed Abdisalaan, a close relative of the chairman of the group, Ma’lin Mohamoud, is pencilled in to be appointed to an important ministry during the forthcoming power sharing implementation as per Addis agreement . Mr. Ahmed has enemies within his tribe and outside his tribe - some of the Ayre clan believe that he had a hand in the elimination of Sheikh Aden Hashi Ayrow, Al Shabab’s military commander, by an American missile in Dusamareeb in May 2008 and the Abgal tribe are of the opinion that he deceived premier Nur Ade during the reign of president Abdilahi Yusuf which resulted the displacement of the Abgal clan from Karan district for the first time in 20 years. The proposal of General Mohamed Nur Galaal (Ayr clan) for a top defence post and that an Ayre clan member to assume the governorship of Galguduud angered many of Ahlu Sunna members. The Marehan, the Dir and to some extend the Sa’ad tribes sensed that they have been used by the Ayr clan to advance their own political goals. This left a bad aftertaste in the mouth of the non Ayr clans and as a consequence the members of Ahlu Sunna forces on the ground that hail from Marehan, Dir and Sa’ad clans made their way to their respective territories leaving behind only the Ayr clansmen to protect Guriel and Dusamareeb.
The Marehan went back to Abud Waaq, the Dir pulled their forces out to defend Ba’adweyne, Amaara and its surroundings from the Suleiman clan who are ousting them out and the Sa’ad made their way to join the Ahlu Sunna - Galmudug wing. Al Shabab and Hisbi - Islam are gearing up to over run the area at the earliest possible time and in light of the disintegration of Ahlu sunna – Galguduud wing , they is the possibilty they will have a smooth run – let us not forget that some of the Ayr clan are also sympathetic to al Shabab.
The weeklong meeting in Abudwaq district between the members who signed the agreement and those who refuted it produced somewhat flimsy convenience mutual agreement primarily intended for the media because the stride of Al Shabab forces towards their nerve centre (Dusamareb) denied them the luxury to address the real issues in detail. Nothing of subsistence has yet to come out – the impasse appears to be an obstinate one with no easy short cuts in sight. It is been said that they have reluctantly agreed only to defend their territories although the word jointly wasn’t explicitly mentioned but clearly ruled out any fighting against Al Shabab outside Galguduud region which amounts to a major change of heart from the part of the group – they used to say they will clear Al Shabab and Hizbi – Islam from Somalia.
Sources close to the proceedings of the negotiations confirmed that three Ethiopian intelligence officers of Somali descent who where delegated to bridge the gap went empty handed. Five politicians – who were suspected to be Al – Itihad members - were briefly detained and also a Quranic school teacher was arrested during the course of the negotiations on the grounds that he is a sympathiser of Al - Shabab and teaches the Wahabi curriculum to his pupils.

Ahlu Sunna Galmudug Wing (Sa’ad clan)
To add some more uncertainty in the standing of Ahlu Sunna as a front, Mr. Abdishakur Haji Ali Hirsi – an American citizen with oil business in Tanzania - was voted as the chairman of the national salvation forces of Ahlu Sunna on 27/03/10 in southern Gaalkayo at Kulmiye hotel. Mr. Abdishakur was the architect and project manager of the failed 2006 CIA funded “Alliance against terrorism” that used to make money out of the sale of Sheikhs and people of Ogaden background to Ethiopia. He is marketing his new project on a nationalist platform (against the infamous pact in Addis between the TFG and Ahlu Sunna Dusamareeb faction) but the question many people are asking is who he is fooling when it is common knowledge that he is full time CIA informer and an Ethiopian stooge. The response of Galmudug’s president is at most importance as the impoverished Barahley district at the southern periphery of Gaalka’ayo can hardly accommodate two parallel authorities – Abdishakur, I deem is capable to buy the loyalty of the president as he has unlimited funds at his disposal to hire the entire men in arms in Galmudug temporarily but will produce nothing tangible on the ground.
Ahlu Sunna Cadaado wing will most probably pop up very soon because the Suleman clan would not stay at the side, as the established Somali clan politics teaches us, but will endeavour to neutralise the Ayr – Galguduud faction and the Sa’ad -Galmudug faction which they see as a threat both to their long-term survival and short-term interests.
