Mogadishu — African Union peacekeepers in Somalia (AMISOM) on Wednesday vowed it establish new military bases in Mogadishu.
In an interview with Shabelle Media Network, Maj. Barigye Bahoku, the spokesman of AMISOM forces in Somalia said additional 1000 soldiers from Burundian forces were recently deployed Somalia, and will be settled new military bases in Al shabaab controlled districts in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
Mr. Bahoku said that they remove what he called Somalia's militant group from the seaside capital as soon as possible.
He said there are meetings with different Somali community to work together to dismantle Al shabaab whom he said they bothered the civilians in the regions they control.
On the other hand, the spokesman refused charges saying that AMISOM is responsible for the closure of Bakaara market, Mogadishu biggest and most popular market in Mogadishu.
