Mogadishu (tf.sf) The Ministry of Information of the transitional federal government t of Somalia has first time begun for the experimentation to broadcast new television satellite channel. On behalf of the government the new TV named ‘Somali National TV’ began test broadcast in the six o’clock am on Monday this week, Somalia’s information minister said.
the minister said that the launch of this satellite channel which was launched for the first time after twenty years of anarchy in the country, Somali government succeeded to re-start the national TV as part of government’s achievements.According to government officials the new channel will be on the air during the twenty-four hours in the day and night.Somali government has before a year launched Radio Mogadishu, the countries main news service which balanced the media stations in the Somali capital, creating ever highly growing listeners at Mogadishu capital and its suburbs.Radio Mogadishu was heard for the first time attacking the practices of Islamic group of Al Shabab and reporting their activities against the civilians which other news stations did not dare to do.
Analysts say the launch of the new television channel could be a major which the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia made towards promoting information service of the war ravaged country.
The move comes after Al Shabab recently launched a local TV named “battalions” that was set up in North of Mogadishu where Al Shabab has strongholds.
