Beletweyne — The newly coalesced administration Shabelle Valley in Hiran region in central Somalia on Wednesday said it had bitter fighting with Al shabaab fighters in the region.
Mohammed Nur (Aga Joof) Shabelle Valley's information minister spelled out in an interview with Shabelle, a local radio station based in Mogadishu that they had the upper hand in combat with al shabaab fighters that occur the village of Deefow in Hiran region.
Aga Joof recounted that they skilled at least 6 fighters from Al shabaab, adding that there are casualties on their side.
He said two of their fighters killed in the fighting and 5 others injured.
The fighting began after Al shabaab fighters waged attacks fighters loyal to Shabelle Valley administration in the region, according the minister of Shabelle Valley's information.
