Belet Hawo — The administration of Somalia's moderate Sufu group of Ahlu Sunna Waljama ASWJ southern Somalia region of Gedo on Wednesday proclaimed that they will attack Al shabaab bases in the region soon.
Sheikh Isaq Hussein, one of Ahlu Sunna officials, said in an interview with Shabelle Media Network that they forces are prepared to launch the last heavy offensive on Bardhere town to dislodge Al shabaab fighters.
Hussein mentioned that their plan of fighting against Al shabaab in the region is at conclusion.
He added that they will also take over the regions of Bay and Bakool which are very adjacent to the region of Gedo.
The official noted the people in Gedo are their supporters and they are committed defending and assuring the safety and security.
In Feb. Somali forces backed by Ahlu Sunna fighters have confiscated more towns and villages of Gedo after bitter clashes with Al shabaab, which controls much of southern and central Somalia.
Govt Plans to Drive Out Al Shabaab From Jubba Regions
Dhobley — Ministers from the transitional federal government of Somalia on Wednesday held key meeting in Dhoblwy border town, discussing how easy Al shabaab could be driven out of Jubba regionsin southern Somalia.
The meeting came hours after a delegation led by the minister of finance monetary, Hussein Abdi Halene, landed at Dhobley town to give fresh impetus combat operations against the rebel group.
